Periodontal Examination

Periodontal Examination

We are dedicated to helping you achieve the periodontal health you deserve. We firmly believe that prevention, early detection, and simple intervention are better than delayed detection and complex care.  As such, we encourage you to go for regular dental examinations and when required, as recommended during periodontal health reviews.

Why do I need to undergo a periodontal examination?

Even if you are conscientious about brushing and flossing your teeth, it is still important to go for regular dental/periodontal exams. This way, we can identify issues before they become serious.

What happens during a periodontal examination?

  • Before anything else, we will ask you about your overall health history including past dental issues, any medications you are taking, and any other illnesses you may have. All these may have an impact on your oral health so it is important to disclose them.
  • We will gently examine your teeth, gums, and mouth to look for potential signs of gum disease, jaw problems, tooth wear and even oral cancer. We evaluate the need for any treatment and discuss these with you. We may take some dental x-rays to check for hidden conditions.
  • Afterward, we will organise appointments to complete any specialized periodontal treatment that may be required.

We make it easy for you

We know many people dread visiting the dentist, so we work hard to make it easy for you to make that appointment. We make sure you are physically comfortable in our waiting area and our rooms. We strive to put your mind at ease, always providing clear explanations about your procedure and ready to answer any questions you may have at any stage to assure you that you are in safe hands.

Once your periodontal disease is under control, we generally recommend a visit every three to six months, but we may recommend more frequent check-ups depending on your unique situation.
